Spring in the Netherlands is a truly spectacular experience, as miles of lush countryside burst into vibrant, dazzling colour. This delightful getaway brings together the world-famous floral displays of Keukenhof with the quintessential charm of traditional Dutch life – from iconic historic windmills and wooden clog-making to picture-perfect fishing harbours, cheese farms, and scenic waterways.
Snapshot Itinerary:
- Day 1: Depart the UK via a short Channel crossing and travel through France and Belgium into the Netherlands to check in at our hotel in time for dinner.
- Day 2: A grand day out at Keukenhof Gardens! Enjoy full leisure time to stroll the 79 acres of floral displays, flower shows in the pavilions, and iconic garden features.
- Day 3: A picturesque excursion through the Dutch countryside. We visit Zaanse Schans to see the historic windmills and clog artisans, followed by a visit to the charming harbour village of Volendam with free time for lunch and shopping.
- Day 4: We depart our hotel and begin the return journey north toward Calais for our Channel crossing back to Dover and onwards home.

- Keukenhof Gardens (“The Garden of Europe”): Spend an unforgettable day exploring 79 acres of landscaped grounds in Lisse, featuring 7 million blooming bulbs, indoor floral exhibitions in the Willem-Alexander and Beatrix Pavilions, tranquil ponds, and the historic 19th-century Keukenhof windmill.
- Zaanse Schans Windmill Village: Step back in time to the 18th and 19th centuries in this open-air heritage village along the Zaan River, featuring working historic windmills, a live clog-making demonstration, and local cheese-making crafts.
- Volendam Fishing Village & Harbour: Stroll along the bustling harbour dike lined with colourful wooden houses, seafood stalls, and traditional fishing boats.
