Based conveniently close to Windsor, this splendid autumn tour combines regal visits to the oldest inhabited castle in the world with world-class botanical beauty and peaceful river cruising. From the grand State Apartments of Windsor Castle to the tropical glasshouses at Kew Gardens and the boutique charm of riverside Richmond, it’s a wonderful weekend blend of history, sightseeing, and relaxation.
Snapshot Itinerary:
- Day 1 – Arrival in West Drayton: Travel south to check in to the 4★ Sheraton Heathrow Hotel with plenty of time to settle in before our first buffet evening meal.
- Day 2 – Windsor Castle & River Thames Cruise: Head straight into Windsor for an audio tour of historic Windsor Castle. Afterwards, enjoy free time to browse the shops and tearooms before stepping aboard a relaxing 40-minute River Thames Cruise towards Boveney Lock.
- Day 3 – Kew Gardens & Richmond upon Thames: Spend the morning exploring the world-renowned Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. In the afternoon, head into the pretty town centre of Richmond upon Thames for leisure time to shop, explore, or enjoy a drink by the water.
- Day 4 – Homeward Journey: After a delicious buffet breakfast, we check out and begin our journey home with wonderful memories of royal houses and historic gardens.
